This chapter covers everything video. This includes setting up software for particular video chipsets, a review of video formats, and tools for video recording, editing, processing, viewing, and transformation, as well as for watching TV stations.

For video recording OBS Studio (obs) is recommended.

For general, powerful, video processing in the terminal use ffmpeg.

A quick GUI for video (and audio) cutting and joining, consider vidcutter.

There are many commands available for dealing with videos, including: acidrip, avimerge, avisplit, cpdvd, dvdrip, dvrequant, lsdvd, mencoder, mplayer, obs, ripmake, tcprobe, transcode, totem, uvcdynctrl, and vlc.
