46 KVM Switch

{#sec:kvm}

This chapter was originally written by Damien McAullay.

A Keyboard, Video, Mouse (KVM) switch is a device that allows you to switch one keyboard, mouse, and display between many computers. Typically this device is a small box connected to many computers and a single keyboard, mouse, and display attached to it. You can then switch between the different computers using buttons on the box or special keyboard commands.
