26.21 Thunderbird Date Format

The dates for email was being shown as MM/dd/yyyy. I prefer EEE yyyy-MM-dd
as in Tue 2024-12-17
. To change the format use the
Config Editor at the bottom of the Settings page.
- Go to Edit → Preferences → Advanced → General → Config Editor
- Search for “intl.date_time.pattern_override.date_short”
- Add a new string preference with this name
- Set the value to your desired date format, for example “EEE yyyy-MM-dd”
After restarting Thunderbird the date/time column will change to this format.
