12.6 Inline Code

An annoyance in using inline code is that the inline code may split across a line with the initial back tick and r ending one line and the code to run starting the next line. Because there is no space after the back tick r, it is not recognised a an inline code block, just a verbatim. Any space added to the end of a line in many editors is automatically removed! A solution to this introduced in KnitR version 1.15 is to replace the space with #.
