Package: google
Google has the world covered in terms of maps and we can utilise its services, such a geocoding, through this MLHub package.
The google package demonstrates and utilises the capabilities of the Google Maps cloud service. In particular we expose the geocode command to convert an address to its longitude and latitude. A Google Maps key is required and will be asked for during the configure. A Google key with free queries is available from Google.
To install, configure, and demonstrate the package:
In addition to the demo command the package also supports geocode.
The Google service used in this google package, unlike the MLHub packages in general, use closed source services which have no guarantee of ongoing availability and do not come with the freedom to modify and share. This cloud based service also requires your address queries, for example, to be sent to Google in the cloud.
Your donation will support ongoing availability and give you access to the PDF version of this book. Desktop Survival Guides include Data Science, GNU/Linux, and MLHub.
